Three Ways to Locate Acupoints on Acupuncture Treatment for Pain Management

處理疼痛問題是針灸療法的特長，不僅改善疼痛效果佳、收效迅速，而且維持療效時間較長，尤有優於其他療法者，就是能消除疼痛的病源，不獨只在一時之止痛。在針灸治痛之取穴方式上各家互異，然而就取穴部位而言，不外乎局部取穴、鄰近取穴、遠部取穴等三類。本文就以此三類針灸取穴模式在治療疼痛問題上比較，探討如何提升針灸治痛之成效。

Acupuncture treatment is good at pain management. Apart from effectively and efficiently reducing pain, acupuncture treatment has longer response duration than other therapies. Not only does the acupuncture temporarily relieve the pain, but also it gets rid of the source of pain. There are some different methods of finding acupoints. But, the location of acupoints only can be made through local point selection, nearby point selection or distant point selection. This study tried to compare these three acupoint selection models on pain treatment in order to improve the efficiency of acupuncture for treatment of pain.
