Drawing on absorptive capacity perspective, R&D inputs can increase firms' competitive advantage as well as R&D performance. We argue that while R&D inputs, including R&D manpower and R&D spending, are beneficial for R&D performance, organizations with superior R&D organizational management capacity may positively moderate the relationship between R&D inputs and R&D performance. We combine questionnaires and secondary data of 130 firms in Taiwan to test hypotheses. The results of hierarchical regression analysis show that R&D manpower positively correlates with R&D performance. In addition, R&D organizational management positively moderates the relationship between R&D manpower and R&D performance. |
