Six male domestic violence abusers(aged 33-55, four abused wife and two abused kids) in Taiwan participated treatment program were interviewed for understanding what they viewed treatment program including how they adjusted themselves, how they learned from program, and how they applied what they learned in program. It was found that they could learn problem solving skill right, felt support in emotion, and felt supported and universality in the first time of the program. After self adjust, most of them transfer the altitude from resistance to acceptance. While asked what were the most 3 impressive modules, they answered the negative impact for the child, the importance of emotional management, being affirm for the road of no violence, positive thinking, identifying risky situation, insight the influence of thought toward behavior, no disrespect toward others and self, the impact of alcohol. They also mentioned the useful learned skills were communication skill, avoidance of risky situation, emotional management. The suggestions for the future were also provided. |
