Objective: The aims of this study were to determine if a teaching in medicine/teaching information system (TMIS) as assessed with a task-technology fit (TTF) model could be adapted to the field of medicine and to determine if hospital employees could use such an information system. The theory behind the TTF model was that a TMIS could be beneficial to job performance if the information technology (IT) were accepted and adopted by the users. Not only would this support the mission but it could also be a way to evaluate performance and provide a competitive advantage. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional case study, using purposive sampling methods and structured questionnaires to survey the case hospital's teaching/meeting IS users. Results: The results showed that both of characteristics of the technology and computer proficiency fit the TTF model. There was also a positive relationship between the TTF model and subjective use, especially with regard to location and utilization of the data. Conclusion: We suggest that the information system should be revised so that the IT staff can easily read and understand the data. |
