The binding reaction of human serum albumin onto cobalt or chromium particles is investigated in this study. The binding capacity and other binding properties were analyzed by adsorption isotherms. The conformational change of the protein was assessed by circular dichroism spectroscopy. Results showed that the binding of human serum albumin onto the cobalt particle was an exothermic reaction, while its binding onto the chromium particle was an endothermic one. The maximum adsorption of serum albumin onto cobalt or chromium particles seemed to form multilayers. And the adsorption led to the change in the secondary structure of the serum albumin. |
