In the modern workplace, the machinery, tools and the systems which workers operate, often lead to injuries due to human error. Furthermore, working in poor work environment, with factors such as noise and high or low temperature, also leads to the development of occupational diseases. In recent years, occupational musculoskeletal injuries resulting from neglecting ergonomic principles has a visible increasing trend. To prevent occupational injuries and diseases suffered by workers in the workplace, the Institute is active in developing programs in the applications of ergonomics in occupational safety and health. |
