This study aims to explore the current safety situation in large-size enterprises, with more than one hundred employees excluding the construction industry, in Taiwan by questionaire survey. The survey contained questionnaires regarding the level of education of laborers, their positions, working hours, years of employment,perception of occupational health and safety activities promoted by the government, and their knowledge of requlatory heath and safety requirements…etc. Questionaires were sent to 1600 laborers, and 800 managers in these enterprises. All questionnaires were returned to the investigators. Based on the results of the analysis from the returned questionnaires, it is recommended that these largesize enterprises should enhance the awareness of health and safety regulations to comply with current labor health and safety regulation in Taiwan. Also, this survey shows that the management level needs to obtain more knowledge of health and safety at work. Finally, these enterprises should establish and continuously improve their occupational heath and safety management systems. |
