This study is to survey neck and shoulder pain among semiconductor industry workers and to explore the individual and work-related risk factors. All eligible workers from two semiconductor and one allied industry companies took part in a self-administered questionnaire voluntarily. They were asked to recollect the occurrence of neck and shoulder pain at their present job. In all, there are 494 participants enrolled, aged 26.4+4.6 y/o, with 43.1% being female. About 48.2 % of them were directly involved in production processes, with an average employment duration of 17.1 months. Among the whole subjects, 38.1% reported at least one episode of neck and shoulder pain at the present job, and 44.1%of them had no similar experience before entrance. One week prevalence of neck and shoulder pain is 19.6%. using multiple logistic regression method, the significantly important factors of self-reported neck and shoulder pain are female, production line workers, and major life events in the past days. However, the distribution of gender is highly related to job titles. |
