An electronic-paper based device for point of purchase (E-POP) advertisement device and the E-POP advertisement management system are designed and implemented in the paper. The E-POP advertisement device uses Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Display to show pictures and texts with colors. The zero-power bi-stable duration for the E-POP advertisement device is three months. The E-POP device employs the Zigbee technology to update its display contents wirelessly. The E-POP advertisement management system can manage E-POP advertisement devices in the applied fields as well as edit and schedule the advertisements to be displayed. The E-POP advertisement system is a light-weight solution with low colors, low update frequency, reflective display, and low power consumption for automatic advertisement posting. The system can replace the original paper-based point of purchase advertisement to improve the timeliness and accuracy of the advertisements. Also, it can save labor, which then can be devoted to activities with higher value-added. |
