Cole (1998) said the assessment methods need an accepted credible assessment framework, and can serve as a test-bed for comparing and contrasting the effectiveness of new methods and for setting performance benchmarks, in order to carry out customization to local conditions. Therefore, this study utilized the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method to investigate the international demonstration sustainable building assessment tool, by compiling and completing an experts’ questionnaire of professionals, the Government, and professors, et cetera, in Taiwan, and explore the differences between ‘different professionals’ and ‘regional characteristics’. Through a test of case-study projects, this research hopes that results will be advantageously employed in sustainable building assessment studies in the future for Taiwan. The results can be summarized the following points: this study verified validly to apply the experts’evaluation method on a regional customizing procedure by a international sustainable building assessment framework in Taiwan; the AHP result of all experts’ opinions outlines the priority issues and the weighting value in Taiwan, these are: ‘C. Environmental Loadings’ is 21.1%, ‘B. Energy and Resource Consumption’ is 18.6%, and ‘D. Indoor Environmental Quality’ is 16.2%. |
