The purpose of this study is to examine the biodiversity of rural landscape based on biotic and spatial data in order to provide strategies for a sustainable rural landscape. The study focuses on the biodiversity index of birds and landscape at district level (at the scale of 1/5000). From January to July 2004, three field surveys were done at six sites (500m×500m) located on the Wuggo village. Firstly, it shows that even in the homogeneous rural landscape, the different proportions and types of the composition of patches can appear different species of birds. Secondly, it shows that the tendency that bird diversity increases while the proportion of the woods area increses. In statistics, both have obvious correlations. Besides, bird diversity is positivly correlative with landscape diversity. Landscape diversity with the human patch is highly related to bird diversity. Therefore, all kinds of land uses including human patch can have contributions to biodiversity in the rural landscape. |
