With the rapid development of digital technologies, the software of digital material production is evolving swiftly. While a series of teacher training workshops keep offering for teachers, the research in what problems occurring to these teachers as digital material developers still lags far behind. Thus, the purpose of this study was to explore teachers' problems with learning digital material production. In this study, around 40 teachers from different departments at a university in southern Taiwan participated in a 2-week intensive workshop of digital material production. At the end of the workshop, the teachers reflected on their learning in an open-ended questionnaire. 25 valid questionnaires were collected. The results indicated that these teachers possessed positive motives, beliefs and confidence toward digital material, and that the teachers' problems with learning digital material production were primarily from the degree of difficulty of learned software, personal factors, and teacher's instruction. The findings and suggestions may provide important information for planning more effective teacher training courses in digital material production. |
