In this study, several Actinomyces and lactic acid bacteria-like strains were isolated from soil, compost, milk or yogurt. These cultures were examined for strain identification and odor elimination tests. Strain identifications included were Gram staining, morphology, cell wall composition analysis, catalase reaction, carbon sources utilization and electron microscopic examinations. The strain Streptornyces variabilis CNCF9 was identified after compared the identification results with the Actinobase and International Journal of Systematic Bacteriology. The lactic acid bacteria-like strains were further identified with API 50 CHL test kit. The identification results obtained showed that some strains have high similarities with Pediococcus pentosaceus and Lactobaciltus para. paracasei. The strains Pediococcus pentosaceus CNCM28 and Lactobacillus para. paracasei CNCL 1 were identified. |
