The aim of this study is to compare the effects of nanoscale Fe^0-Ni^0 bimetallics synthesized simultaneously with synthesized separately on the treatment of nitrate as well asto explore the effects of pH on the reduction of nitrate. Results indicate that nanoscale Fe^0-Ni^0 bimetallics performed better than Fe^0 or Ni^0 alone. This might be due to the catalysis ofNi^0 to promote the reduction ability of Fe^0 on nitrate. Higher reduction of nitrate was foundunder lower pH condition, which might result from the surface availability of metal. |
