The aim of this study was to apply chlorine dioxide in a indoor swimming pool for evaluating its disinfection efficiency. Therefore, this studying methods were divided into three steps to proceed: (1) environmental sampling in the whole swimming pool environment, (2) microorganism culture and analysis, and (3) evaluation of disinfection efficiency in vapor room. Results indicate that if there is no proper amount of chlorine dioxide remaining left in swimming pool, the total viable counts can not meet the regulation requirement. For the air quality, it is unnecessary to do any furthermore disinfection because the space is enough for ventilation. In the vapor room, the measured counts of bioaerosols was 19296CFU/m^3L. After using a spraying method with chlorine dioxide for disinfection, the efficiency of disinfection can be obtained as high as 96.5%. Consequently, chlorine dioxide can be applied for promoting the environmental quality of indoor swimming pool to comply with the regulations. |
