The object of this study was focusing on the oxidation treatment of pentachlorophenol (PCP) utilizing the heterogeneous resin catalyst prepared by the immersing method. The treatment efficiency and conditions was discussed in a batch reactor. In order to investigate the feasibility of recycling Fe(Superscript 3+)-resin catalyst, the batch condition was set as 0.5% (w/v) catalyst dosage, 0.1M H2O2, pH 7, and reaction temperature 80℃. The used catalysts were recovered after oxidation reaction and were reused in the oxidation of PCP in aqueous solution for four successive times. The results showed that the same Fe(Superscript 3+)-resin could be reused for at least three cycles of PCP oxidation in aqueous solution. Moreover, it also indicated that the toxicity of oxidation product was almost decomposed after 40 minutes oxidation. The high efficiency of oxidation and toxicity test showed that the Fe(Superscript 3+)- resin/H2O2 system would be the referee of polluted groundwater remediation processes. |
