Scholars propose “Indigenous Knowledge”— the approaches contribute to the body of knowledge of indigenous people about themselves and for themselves, and for their own needs ─ as ethnic guidelines and approach for indigenous research. Following this thought, this article suggests indigenous knowledge could be the interests and approaches of indigenous communication in Taiwan, because by doing so researchers to be asked to empower or share control of research with indigenous peoples, it may avoid the unequal power between indigenous peoples and researchers. Besides, indigenous knowledge approaches which respect or follow the worldviews of indigenous peoples also share the similar value with the indigenization of communication research in Taiwan. |
