The purpose of this study was to investigate a kindergarten teacher’s teaching beliefs and to explore the relevant factors which influence the teacher’s beliefs. Qualitative research approach was adopted. Data collected through interviews, observations and document analysis was then further organized and analysis. Main findings of this study were as followings: 1. Teaching beliefs of a teacher can be observed through her teaching objectives, teaching methods, parent-teacher communication, and teaching assessments . 2. Factors which influenced teaching beliefs were as followings: a. Personal factors: family environment and personal characteristics. b. Teacher training: practicum experiences, professional training, and kindergarten instructional supervision group. c. External factors: career environment, teaching partners, and feedback from students’ parents. |
