Depending on the review of literature, this article described the development of the study of motivation for adult education and introduced some methods about measuring motivation. The main tools for measuring motivation are scales of self-made at the present time. Therefore, some famous scales developed by Dr. Sheffield and Dr. Boshier are introduced in this article in order to provide some models for the researchers in Taiwan. The unique characteristics of adults as learners were explored in this article, too. According to past research, Sociodemographic variables such as sex, age, occupation, marital status, educational level, appear to play a relatively modest role in influencing educational participation and persistence behavior of adults. There are some explanations about the influsncial variables in this article. |
