英文摘要 |
With the rapid growth of its economy, China has been gradually adopting a more liberal stance toward foreign banks. In particular, China made clear commitments to open its market fully to foreign bank participation in foreign exchange banking as soon as it joined the WTO in 2001, and to renminbi banking five years later. And at the end of 2003, it relaxed the restrictions on foreign bank investment in Chinese banks. This study begins with prefatory remarks, and then introduces the history and current situation of foreign bank development in China. In its third part, the study analyzes foreign bank investment in Chinese banks, focusing on the development trends of such investment, the factors considered by the investing and invested banks in pursuing such investment, and a brief estimation of the investment results. The fourth part of the study examines the investment strategies of three international banks, and the final part presents conclusions from the study’s analytical findings. |
