In recent years, the government in Taiwan has been making vigorous efforts to improve the domestic environment for entrepreneurship. Toward this end, it has been implementing the Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurship Center Plan and the Project for the Realization of Entrepreneurial Dreams, which focus on providing services, training and funding for business startups. Meanwhile, the European Union has recently issued a Green Paper on Entrepreneurship in Europe, followed by the publication of an Action Plan: The European Agenda for Entrepreneurship, addressing the factors that influence entrepreneurship and proposing a series of measures for the improvement thereof. This paper examines the EU’s methods and experience on this front, with a view to providing useful lessons for Taiwan’s policy makers. |
