”Therapy based on correct diagnosis” is the most important principle and character in the practice of Chinese medicine, The doctrine of Yin-and-Yang, the concept of five primary elements of Nature (Wu-Shing, the physiological and pathological relationship of all internal organs rest upon the interpromotion and interaction of five elements, metal, wood, water, fire and earth), designate the viscera into Wu-Tsang (heart, liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys) and Liu Fu (gall-bladder, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and urinary-bladder), and San-Jiao or three specialized groups of internal organs concerned in f1uid-transport in the body), and meridian doctrine (the physiology and pathology of the channels and collaterals and their relationship with the Wu-Tsang and Liu Fu, which serves as a guidance of acupuncture in clinical practice) are the basic philosophically rational doctrines and concepts for the practice of Chinese medicine. In this paper the diagnosis of hepatitis B by the principles used in Chinese medicine was reported. We concluded that the doctrines and concepts of Chinese medicine is able to be considered as reference for the diagnosis of hepatitis B. |
