虎耳草與廣藿香之急性外耳道炎動物實驗的研究

The Study of Saxifraga Stolonifera and Pogostemon Cablin on Experimental Animal Model of Acute Otitis Externa

前報筆者們究明了台灣民間藥虎耳草之基源為虎耳草科植物Saxifraga stolonifera MEERH。（虎耳草）及唇形科植物Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) BENTH（廣藿香）的地上部分式或藥，同時也發現S. stolonifera幾乎對外耳道炎致病菌無抗菌力，而P. cablin反而能抑制金黃色葡萄球菌、白色葡萄球茵及枯草桿茵之生長。本報續以水及S. aureus誘生天竺鼠外耳道炎之動物模式來進一步探討此二種虎耳草對外耳道炎之療效，結果發現廣藿香對金黃色葡萄球菌所致天竺鼠急性外耳道炎有正面治療效果，而虎耳草反而有負面療效。

In the previous report, the origin of ”Hǔ-ěr-căo” in Taiwan market is derived from the entire plant or aerial part of Saxifraga stolonifera M(subscript EERB), and the leaves and stems of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) B(subscript ENTH). In vitro study on the antibacterial activity including common 14 species bacteria of acute otitis externa and chronic otitis media, show that P. cablin had inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis and Bacillus subtilis, etc. In the present paper, an experimental animal model on otitis externa induced by water and S. aureus was made to examine these two plants medicinal effect. The results show that P. cablin has been proved to be effective in the treatment of acute diffuse otitis externa induced by S. aureus on animal model.
