In all of the Northern American softwood breeds, Douglas fir ranked as the number one large-sized wood in Canada, furthermore, it is well known by its high compressive strength ratio. Its texture ranges from detailed to general, and withstands wear and tear. That is why Douglas fir is valued as the hardest and solidest soft wood in business usage, and is commonly adopted in constructing viaducts, bridges, and blockhouses. Most of noise absorption materials in Taiwan are imported from overseas. However, the particular climate in Taiwan is not taken into account, which results in the low-level performance of the imported materials. In this research, the perforated board architecture is studied. The number of the holes, the size of the holes, the distance of the holes, the thickness of the board, and the back sticking material of the board are studied to find out the ideal combination for future noise control. |
