The purpose of this research is to study the behaviors of steel plate reinforced RC beam subjected to high temperature through tests. There were four RC beams tested in this research. The first one was without reinforcement and was not heated. The second one was reinforced but not subjected to high temperature. The third and fourth one were reinforced and heated up to 150℃ and 200℃ respectively. The reinforced specimen was strengthened by a steel plate bonded to the specimen’s bottom. After curing, the specimen was pre-stressed and then heated with increasing temperature. After heating, all the specimens were left to cool down to the room temperature and then loaded to failure. It is found from the test results that the ultimate strength of reinforced specimen is decreased with increasing temperature and the maximum deflection of heated reinforced specimen is far larger than the non-heated reinforced one during both heating and loading to failure stages. |
