Mechanical/Electrical/Piping (M/E/P) systems, due to their complexity and diversity, are the most intricate portions for building construction. The lack of integration will affect the overall construction schedule and quality. In order to avoid these problems, this paper is to investigate the interface analysis and integration by two processes during the construction, one is the combined service drawing process and the other is the installation arrangement process. In the first process, the interface integration is to identify and solve the 2D and 3D pipeline interferences. During the second process, the interface integration is to deal with the installation sequencing. Based on these two processes, the ideal installation sequence will be produced. A successful system integration before construction can reduce on-site construction errors and achieve project objectives of quality, schedule, and cost. The paper clearly defines the process to complete interface integration that is essential to the building construction process. |
