After the third wave of democratization, Latin American countries experienced political transformation since 1980s. For those abuse and large-scale human rights violations events which occurred during the civil war, dictatorship or military ex-governments, new governments set up the truth investigation commission in succession. This study sorts briefly on the process, operation and the final report of fifteen Latin American countries' truth investigation commission. Observing the different type of human right violence in those countries and the government processed after investigation. Notice the efforts of victims and their families, human rights organizations, non-governmental organizations and the legal profession. |
