Employing the perspective of Identity Realism, we examine the grand strategy of Taiwan under the U.S.-China-Taiwan triangle. We start with a brief review of the development of the triangular U.S.-China-Taiwan relations after the war. We then proceed to look into the regional U.S.-China-Japan triangle in East Asia. In the following sections, we will investigate the bilateral Taiwan-U.S., the Taiwan-Japan, and the Taiwan-China relations respectively. Before coming to the conclusions, we will offer an analysis of the ambivalent relations between Taiwan and the Republic of China. |
