In order to provide the ideal aging-in-place solution, the architectural planning and spatial design of Day Service Center is an important task to carry out community-based care in the future. In this research, we put focus on the reaction relations among users, behaviors and spaces. We present the observing strategy by behavior-mapping for the elderly in day service Center, and by a trace of the behavior contents, activity types and available spaces for the elderly. We try to compare and break down the characteristics of using behaviors and differences of new and old environmental contexts. There are three main purposes in this study: (1) To compare the differences of behaviors in the elderly between two different environmental contexts, e.g. before and after environmental relocation of Day Service Center; (2) To analyze the differences of stay spot, time, frequency and reactions with people for the elderly in different health conditions; (3) Try to conclude the impact factors of activity and behavior pattern of the elderly, and provide some suggestions on spatial designs of common space planning and layout for the Day Service Center in the future. |
