Expatriation is increasingly becoming common in global business operations. Traditionally, the number of male expatriates has been much more than that of female ones. However, with the rise in the level of knowledge and societal status of female workers, more and more expatriate female workers have entered international business. This research used a questionnaire survey to investigate psychological and social capital and their effect on working satisfaction. The results indicate that psychological capital and social capital are positively related to working satisfaction. Two dimensions of psychological capital, self-efficacy and optimism, and two dimensions of social capital, relation and cognitive, are related to working satisfaction. Additionally, the results indicate that female expatriates focus on strengthening existent social relations more than expanding them. The regression model indicates that working satisfaction is affected by the self-efficacy dimension of psychological capital. |
