Social Network Theory and Network Analysis have often been adopted in Organizational Behavior studies. Related studies mainly include those topics such as voluntary turnover, intellectual capital, project management, attitude contagion, and for sure, job satisfaction. However, most researches focus on resource access, relational content and mutual trust, but few are related to network structure. In this paper, we study the association between an employee’s network structure position and his job satisfaction. Central position and go-between position in advice network and central position in friendship network are examined. Data are collected from one hi-tech multinational corporation with matrix structure and two bureaucratic organizations. Analytical result shows that central position in advice network will help raising employee’s job satisfaction. |
