By describing a supervision process and the experience and reflection from participants’ perspectives, this paper discusses the factors influencing the effectiveness of supervision. The focuses of each visit to a nursery school are gradually changed. In the beginning, building a trusty relationship is the target. However, when the supervisor noticed that teachers are full of potential and are willing to invest themselves into their professional development and school change, the target changed to provide opportunities for them to be empowered. From the teachers’ experience,the supervision process does bring force to make a change. What they are concerned about in the supervision process is more than the supervisor’s attitude since they believe that the supervisor, if who is considerate, respectable, and is able to give directive suggestions, will bring a positive change. |
