經過殖民與後殖民的轉折,台灣民眾如何接受「桃太郎」這個充滿日本意象的童話故事呢?本論文以劉禾(Lydia Liu)的「跨語際實踐」(translingual practice)以及外山滋比古的「異本論」(ihonron)的觀點,考察百年來桃太郎故事在台灣的受容/變容的過程,這不是單純的翻譯版本的比較分析,而是一種文化翻譯或「挪用」(appropriation)的探究。經由考察分析,本論文得到如下的結論:從殖民地時期的國語教科書和特殊目的譯本至戰後的譯寫、改寫本,這些百年來不間斷地出版的『桃太郎』可視之為『桃太郎』異本,這些異本讓桃太郎故事得以本土歸化,為台灣社會接受,持續被閱讀。 |
英文摘要 |
Momotaro is a well known Japanese children story, are there different views about this story during and after Japan colonial Taiwan? This thesis is from the perspective of Translingual Practice by Lydia Liu and Ihonron by Shigehiko Toyama to compare the translation of the Momotaro from fully adoption to modification over the last century. This is not a pure translation analysis and comparison but an exploration of cultural translation/appropriation. There are different versions of Momotaro in Taiwan: some were adopted in the textbook during the colonial period; others with different degree of variation were translated after the War often carried a certain purpose. After careful analysis and examination, this thesis reaches the following conclusion - the continuous publication of various versions of Momotaro over the last century has gradually localized the story and increases the level of acceptance in Taiwan. |
