After the cancelling of martial law in Taiwan, all levels of the domestic social circumstances have faced intense changes and challenges. Education is no exception because it is relevant to the foundation of a nation and the country’s development. Therefore, the promotion of democratization and liberalization has become an important goal for educational transformation. This study aims to understand the developmental issues of the policy of the initial educational transformation after the cancelling of martial law;thus, Kao-Wen Mao, the first minister of Ministry of Education after the cancelling of martial law, has become the main interest of this study. Based on a case study and via the analysis of literature and interview, Minster Mao’s educational philosophy and policy reformation were further understood for future reference. |
