The integration of computer software into instruction could assist young children to advance their cognitive performance, interactional relationship, and manipulating skills. This study employs observations and interviews to collect study data, and explores the practices about a kindergarten with using English learning software to increase young children's English literacy, interactions, and computer skills. The results indicate that young children could interest in multimedia presentations with computer software of computer keyboard finger exercises and learning spelling words activities. The interesting effects of digital contents, sounds, and voices help them learn English letters and master computer operating skills. In addition, the early childhood educators employ the emotional support and affective communication to develop young children's pro-social attitudes and behaviors. They establish a positive relationship between students and teachers, and promote young children's peer interactions. Finally, the researcher provides some thoughts as the reference for early childhood educators and related authorities to consider the practical applications of integrating computer software into instruction for young children. |
