This article briefly reviewed the participation of Taiwan Long Term Care Professional Association in promoting interprofessional care for older adults and disabled people in the field of long term care. The world-wide influence of collaborative practice demonstrated a great impact on the development of Taiwan long term care system and the education of professions involved in long term care. The launching of the 10-year flagship plan for long-term care as well as the mandate of continuing education for long term care professionals accelerated the implementation of collaborative practice. Examples of collaborative practice can be found in practices at home, in the community and in institutions for people needing long term care. |
