The capacity for “futures imagination” will be vital to us if we are going to face our future challenges. Educators around the world are currently involved in developing futures imagination pedagogies and curricula. In this preliminary study of futures imagination and education, after first reviewing the relevant literature and analyzing the action research that has already been done in this field by educators at universities and elementary schools, we propose some overall goals and specific course plans for teaching futures imagination in Taiwan. It is hoped that the results of this study can provide a conceptual foundation for future research, and promote the development of futures imagination pedagogies, curricula and teaching guidelines in Taiwan. |
