The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of implementing creative theater activities by a preschool teacher. The researchers apply the experimental case study as the research method. A class of kindergarten children was selected for this study, ranging from five to six years old with the total of 24, from a public kindergarten institution where the researcher serves as their primary teacher. The study took place over a three month period, where children's creative theater activities were implemented into the class four times each week, for a total of thirty-six times. The researcher documented the results of the study through observation, record keeping through the use of teaching journals, video and audio digital recordings, and interviews with the children. Through these methods, the researchers analyze the process of how young participating in the creative theater activities. The results are as follows: 1. When implementing creative theater activities, the teacher should follow and
maintain a proper sequence of progress for the class, creating a beneficial and enjoyable atmosphere for the theater activities. 2. The creative theater activities should consist of applying simple beginner level theater as warm up activities, and using more advanced level theater as the art performance activities. 3. Teachers' positive attitude of creative drama can encourage children'sinvolvement of theater activities. |
