The orthogonality among the subcarriers of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems may not be preserved under time-varying channels. The system performance becomes degraded due to the loss of orthogonality among the subcarriers, and this effect is called intercarrier interference (ICI). Conventional zero forcing detection scheme can be used tosuppress the ICI effect, but noise enhancement also occurs. In order to avoid noise enhancement, a novel Wiener-based successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme is proposed to detect the OFDM signals in this paper. The Wienerbased SIC scheme provides a good ICI cancellation performance. Simulation results show that the performance of the Wienerbased SIC scheme is better than those of both zero forcing and zero forcing plus SIC schemes. |
