Since sensors located in different positions while they are deployed uniformly in a wireless sensor network (WSN) bear different communication responsibilities, the energy consumption of sensors in the network are heterogeneous so that some may die earlier than the others. In this paper, we evaluate the energy consumption of sensors in networks.Furthermore, a sensor deployment by linear density control to balance the loading of sensors for WSNs is proposed, so that the network availability is significantly improved. Simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve up to 32% higher data delivery rate than previous research did. |
