The purpose of this study was to describe the process of teaching a student with multiple disabilities to participate in physical classes. Collaborating with a physical education teacher, the author developed a series of adaptive class activities to teach the student. Taped Video clips and photographs were analyzed to understand the student's learning progress. The results showed that the effective inclusion was based on the appropriate curriculum and instruction for the student with disabilities. Class participation, self-fulfillment and confidence should be focused in the instruction for the students. In addition, the adaptive class activities should be interesting for all students in the class. |
