Climate change creates environmental pressure and causes violent fluctuations in natural carbon sequestration. In 2023, China successively promulgated and implemented building embodied carbon emissions and building energy efficiency assessment methods and specifications, which are actions taken in response to building decarbonization and net zero commitments; On this basis, adjustments that are in line with carbon environmental interests are added to respond to net zero building targets. This study discusses and summarizes the carbon issues of the entire life cycle of buildings based on literature, and establishes a decarbonization path framework based on this; and uses a certain workplace building and base as an empirical analysis to conduct decarbonization strategy analysis and verification. Research purpose: Analyze embodied carbon and building energy efficiency decarbonization strategies; examine decarbonization issues from the perspective of carbon environment stakeholders; model of embodied carbon, building energy efficiency, carbon sequestration and carbon cost strategies throughout the building life cycle. Research shows: 1. Incorporate carbon sequestration strategies into building carbon embedding methods; promote carbon neutrality in the design stage. 2. Use green renewable energy on site to offset building energy consumption to achieve a balanced energy budget. 3. Carbon fee collection makes the building carbon footprint a measurable method to implement the net-zero building strategy. Transform the carbon neutrality of the building base from carbon emissions to negative carbon; provide suggestions on decarbonization strategies from the full life cycle building operation model.
