The participants in this study were four outstanding musicians in Taiwan. Case studies were employed through in-depth interviews and data collection in an aim at acknowledging process of careers by these musician. In view of the results, conclusions were as follows: their artistic career attributed a great deal to family background. Growing education could be divided into three stages: head start, formal discipline, and turning points. All four subjects had benefited greatly, from the guidance of early mentors. These included “door keepers” of the arts, foreign well-known educators, and teachers. They referred mainly to persistence in adversity, and blooming of artistic development in Taiwan. |
