This paper attempts to explore a very important view of life: Life is on the whole not limited to the physical or neurological mechanism, but is lively emerged from outside the brain. Through the research results from the members of The Scientific and Medical Network, particularly focusing on the study of Exceptional Human Experiences, we can get apparent impression or even evidence that human mind and consciousness has extraordinary capacity of transcending the limitation governed by the laws of science. Four examples of studying such experiences are shown, and they indicate that life works beyond the brain, which also implies that the meaning of life is much wider if we consider these experiences appropriately. |
