Experiences in the Life That Go Beyond the Brain

本論文的主旨在於探討一個重要的生命觀：生命的整體不止是局限在生理上或大腦中的機制，而是活生生的展現在非常多大腦以外的層次裡。筆者的著力點，主要是建立在英國The Scientific and Medical Network（簡稱SMN）多年來所累積的研究成果之基礎上。其中特別挑選了4位研究者對超常經驗的研究實例，從不同的角度去說明人類的心靈和意識有超越物理時空限制的能力與現象。檢視此類經驗的目的，在於探討科學的限制性，以及這些經驗如何去說明人類的生命具有超越大腦的本質，並從中展現生命的意義。

This paper attempts to explore a very important view of life: Life is on the whole not limited to the physical or neurological mechanism, but is lively emerged from outside the brain. Through the research results from the members of The Scientific and Medical Network, particularly focusing on the study of Exceptional Human Experiences, we can get apparent impression or even evidence that human mind and consciousness has extraordinary capacity of transcending the limitation governed by the laws of science. Four examples of studying such experiences are shown, and they indicate that life works beyond the brain, which also implies that the meaning of life is much wider if we consider these experiences appropriately.
