This study explores the application of the P groups coding format in HLA-DPB1 typing and evaluates the conversion accuracy and consistency between the low-to-moderate resolution reverse Sequence-Specific Oligonucleotide (r-SSO) technique and the high-resolution Sequence-Based Typing (SBT) technique. The results show that the r-SSO method still has unresolved allele ambiguities. However, in the SBT method, 168 out of 179 samples (93.9%) could be assigned the most suitable allele through P groups conversion, partially resolving allele ambiguities. These findings demonstrate the potential of the P groups format in high-resolution HLA typing. Overall, the P groups coding system can serve as an auxiliary tool for HLA-DPB1 typing, particularly in SBT, and its clinical applications and implications for transplantation matching warrant further investigation. |
