This study explores the benefits and development path of adopting washless printing plates to replace traditional PS or CTP plates in the printing industry. Through literature review and industry case analysis, the impact of using washless plates on printing processes, the environment, and business operations is summarized. The results show that washless plates eliminate the steps of developing, washing, coating, and drying in the traditional plate-making process, reducing the process from six steps to two, shortening plate-making time by approximately 60%, and significantly improving production efficiency. Simultaneously, it eliminates the need for water resources and strongly alkaline developing agents required by plate processors, and no longer generates any wastewater containing chemical agents, achieving zero water consumption and completely eliminating wastewater discharge. After discontinuing plate processors, plate-making power consumption decreases, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 35%. Furthermore, the use of washless plates improves the working environment, eliminates the health hazards of traditional developing agents, and frees up approximately 50% of the space required for plate-making equipment. In summary, washless printing plates help the printing industry achieve low-carbon production, reduce resource consumption and pollution emissions, and have significant environmental and economic benefits. Based on this, this study proposes industry promotion recommendations to accelerate the green transformation of the printing industry. |
