Thermochromic ink is a special ink that combines thermochromic materials. Its technical feature is the application of temperature sensing changes. It is a smart material that shows high applicability and ductility in the market. Due to its characteristics, thermochromic inks are reversible and irreversible. They use Microcapsule encapsulated Leuco Dyes. Most of its innovative products provide interactive experiences with consumers through printing and rendering, such as food packaging and clothing. The market's attraction to such products, in addition to enhancing and adding added value, and whether they can serve as an indicative and practical function has long been a concern. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship between the color of thermochromic ink and the change of time and temperature, conduct color analysis research based on the color gradient process, and select ivory cards that are often used in design as samples to conduct heating experiments, explore its temperature as an indicative design direction, and provide academic supplements for ink characteristics. The experiment was limited to two-color thermochromic inks, and the research temperature was set at 31°C and 47°C, using two different two-color thermochromic inks. According to the experimental data, the color difference value of different two-color thermochromic inks at the same temperature, the 47°C changes more greatly, while the gradient process of different thermochromic inks with the same temperature sample is not much different. From the perspective of the LCH aspect of the ink, the visual effect difference of the 31°C purple is the smallest, and the green 47°C is the most impactful, which is suitable for high contrast design needs. |
