“The climate crisis is a health crisis.'', and healthcare systems play a pivotal role in global climate action. However, digital transformation and the promotion of healthcare sustainability pose significant challenges for hospitals. In 2020, Taipei Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) fully implemented the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) performance management system and launched the Integrated and Innovative Health Information System (TnHIS). These initiatives accelerated the development of intelligent healthcare, saved energy, reduced carbon emissions through lifestyle transformation, and created a diverse and friendly environment, thereby gradually transitioning into a new dual-axis era of digital and sustainable transformation. This paper shares the hospital's experience in dual-axis transformation from the following perspectives: sustainable policies and governance structure, integrity governance and sustainable management, digital transformation of intelligent healthcare, environmentally friendly energy conservation and carbon reduction, and the development process of digital and sustainable dual-axis transformation. By leveraging the Taipei Hospital's successful experience and transformation model, we aim to assist our peer hospitals in transitioning to next-generation healthcare information systems, developing intelligent healthcare, and accelerating the digital transformation of MOHW-affiliated hospitals. |
