The COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges for daycare centers, requiring them to implement preventive measures that can impact their service capacity. This study aimed to explore how to strike a balance between COVID-19 prevention measures and service capacity in a daycare center. This study used a case study approach to investigate how four centers had balanced COVID-19 prevention measures and service capacity. The implemented measures included temperature screening, hand hygiene, wearing masks, social distancing, and disinfection, which have affected the quality and scope of the services provided. To address these issues, the study proposed three solutions: establishing a flexible operational model that can adapt to changing pandemic conditions, adopting digital technologies to optimize resource utilization and enhance service delivery, and strengthening communication and cooperation with families and other stakeholders to gain their support. Achieving this balance is critical for the sustainable operation of daycare centers during the pandemic, and the proposed solutions can provide practical insights for daycare center management. However, their effectiveness may depend on local contexts, and further research is needed to identify more effective and feasible methods for achieving this balance. |
