This article documented the development and practice of psychodrama in Taiwan for the past 40 years. Using a method of literature review, the author analyzed the psy-chodrama history, in two parts: the development and the practice. First, in the devel-opment history, psychodrama was first set up in Taiwan in 1974. Then it gradually and successfully marched into the four stages: the budding (1974-1987), the growing (1988-1993), the blooming (1994-2004), and the expansion (2005-present). Amid them, scholars were also invited from abroad to join the development. Next, Taiwan psychodrama has been offering numerous trainings, workshop, seminars, and connec-tions for medical purpose to local hospitals, communities, and higher education for years. It has also spread into several similar parties across different continents, such as North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Nowadays, Taiwan Association of Psychodrama (TAP), established in March 2010, is qualified to offer the certificate, as well as to verify it, to psychodrama graduates and practitioners. Finally, a suggestion given by the author as a psychodrama researcher, is that all of us should work out our activities as much as we can and link them both with local and international cultures. Moreover, getting our work published in academic journals is also important. |
